Parent Engagement

The College Reach Out Parent Partnership Initiative (CROPP) at the University of South Florida highlights the crucial importance of parental involvement in a student鈥檚 academic journey. CROPP is committed to actively engaging parents in workshops focused on enhancing college readiness, understanding the educational system, and creating a supportive home environment. By participating in these workshops, parents will become stronger advocates and mentors for their children, ensuring they have the necessary resources and support to reach their educational aspirations.

We are excited to collaborate closely with our parents to build a cohesive and empowering community for all our students. Through CROPP, we offer a variety of workshops designed to empower parents in the following areas:

Workshops and Resources
Our workshops will cover a range of topics, including:

  • College Application Process: Guidance on how to navigate the college application process, including understanding admission requirements and deadlines.
  • Financial Aid and Scholarships: Information on financial aid options, scholarship opportunities, and tips for completing FASFA forms.
  • Academic Support Strategies: Techniques for supporting your child's academic progress and helping them with study habits, time management, and goal setting.
  • College Readiness: Preparing students for the transition to college life, including developing independence and resilience.
  • Career Planning: Insights into career exploration and planning, helping students align their academic choices with future career goals.
  • Mental Health and Well-being: Strategies for maintaining a healthy balance between academic demands and personal well-being.

    has teamed up with the University of 黑洞社区 to address economic barriers and support students in advancing their education and achieving long-term economic mobility. This comprehensive tool is available to the community, providing access to information on available resources and assistance.the following services and features:

    Federal & State Benefits Screener

    Discover the convenience of obtaining immediate eligibility results for up to 21 essential federal and state benefits, all within just 15 minutes! Imagine having all the information you need to access the benefits you deserve right at your fingertips! Take advantage of this opportunity to streamline your benefits search and take control of your financial well-being today. Once on the Single Stop page, select your primary location, then press 鈥淐ontinue.鈥 Next, press the big green "Let鈥檚 Get Started!" button to start a series of questions to determine if you qualify for federal, state, and local benefits.

    Community Resources

    Browse and search for local community benefits and resources that may be able to provide you additional assistance with housing, food, immigration, transportation, work resources, and more.

    Application Assistance

    The benefit screener will provide you toolkits to guide you on how to apply for any eligible benefits, as well as to help troubleshoot if any issues arise.
