Awareness Months

On this page we will highlight national awareness months related to mental health and substance use/misuse.

September is National Recovery Month

September marks National Recovery Month, a significant occasion that aligns with various Reinvestment Grant Programs. Our team is honored to advocate for and recognize individuals who have embarked on their journey toward recovery from substance use challenges. Additionally, we are committed to diminishing the stigma associated with substance use.

National Recovery Month, initiated in 1989, is an annual observance that takes place every September. Its purpose is to promote and endorse innovative, evidence-based treatment and recovery practices, celebrate the robust recovery community across the nation, and acknowledge the commitment of service providers and communities that facilitate recovery in all its diverse forms.
