Master of Science in Accountancy and Analytics

Overview

The Master of Science in Accountancy and Analytics program provides candidates with greater breadth and depth of knowledge in accountancy than is possible in the baccalaureate program. The program is designed to meet the increasing needs of business, government, and public accounting. The program may also be structured to satisfy the requirements to sit for the CPA examination in Florida. The Master of Science in Accountancy and Analytics program is a STEM-designated program, which permits international students to obtain three years of Optional Practical Training (OPT) in the United States.

Applicants to the program must have either completed an undergraduate accounting major from a US institution with AACSB or ACBSP accreditation, or have completed the equivalent to that from an international instiution and provide a NASBA International Evaluation Services report. A third option for eligibility is available to those who have passed all or a part of one of the following professional certification examinations: US CPA, CMA, CA (Canada, UK, Ireland, Australia, India, Hong Kong, and Singapore), AND a have minimum of two years of relevant experience in the field of accounting, auditing, or taxation.  Eligibility for admission based on proficiency in accounting through passing certification examinations and having relevant experience is subject to approval of the master鈥檚 program committee.  

Program OPTIONS

The Lynn Pippenger School of Accountancy Master of Science in Accountancy and Analytics program currently offers three specializations: assurance, corporate, and tax. Classes may be offered on either the Tampa or the St. Petersburg campuses.  For classes that are not administered in an online format, students may need to commute between locations depending on course offerings each semester. Candidates are encouraged to select a primary campus when applying for the program based on the campus of the faculty from which they anticipate taking the majority of their classes. However, students will enjoy the flexibility of taking courses on the Tampa and St. Petersburg campuses as course offerings permit.
