Bishop Center for Ethical Leadership

About Us

Louise Carson Bishop and Wally Bishop

The Bishop Center for Ethical Leadership is named for its founding benefactors, Louise Carson Bishop and Wally Bishop. Louise Carson Bishop was a beloved St. Petersburg philanthropist who gave generously to support the arts, healthcare and education. Her husband, Wally, was a nationally syndicated King Features cartoonist who drew the strip Mugs and Skeeter.

In 1989, Louise committed a legacy endowment of $600,000 to fund the Wally and Louise Bishop Center for Ethical Leadership to advance ethical leadership through interdisciplinary study, academic rigor, and co-curricular practice. In 2005, The Wally and Louise Bishop Center for Ethical Leadership was officially established.

Today, the Bishop Center for Ethical Leadership carries out the vision and legacy left by Louise and Wally Bishop, empowering future business leaders with innovative strategies to navigate ethical decision making.
