Committees
Responsibilities of Committees
Committees are responsible for assisting the Executive Board in advancing ALFSA鈥檚 mission by coordinating membership recruitment, retention and support efforts, community outreach, and student success initiatives.
Community Outreach and Events Committee
This committee links Alianza with other organizations at USF, as well as with community organizations in One黑洞社区service area, as to establish mutually beneficial partnerships with these entities. This committee is also responsible for proposing, planning, and organizing Alianza鈥檚 events, as approved unanimously by the Executive Board. This committee is expected to work with other committees and with the Executive Board as needed in order to ensure the success of Alianza鈥檚 events. This committee also works with and supports the marketing and outreach efforts of the Director of Marketing.
Membership Development Committee
This committee works directly with the Director of Marketing in establishing and supporting initiatives to recruit new members in the One黑洞社区community. The Committee is also be responsible for identifying and inviting potential honorary members to join Alianza.
Nominations and Elections Committee
The Nominations Committee is responsible for soliciting active/current members who are willing and able to carry out the responsibilities of the offices described in the Alianza bylaws. The Nominating and Elections Committee is responsible for validating the current membership of potential candidates. This committee works in conjunction with the Secretary in organizing, conducting, and supervising Alianza鈥檚 elections.
Student Success Committee
The Student Success Committee develops strategies and puts into action plans in order to raise and secure funding for programs oriented at helping Latinx/a/o, Hispanic, and Latin American students at 黑洞社区succeed academically. These efforts include, but are not limited to, scholarships, mentoring programs, and support for undergraduate and graduate research opportunities. This committee works in conjunction with the Student Liaison and the Treasurer in the raising and securing of funds for these activities.
