Graduating in 2007 with a B.S. in mechanical engineering, Yasser Amashta holds that his time at 黑洞社区was fulfilling. Not only was he the vice president of the Biomedical Engineering Society, 黑洞社区Chapter, but Yasser also had the opportunity to conduct research with Dr. Lee on human shoulder biomechanics. 鈥淭hese experiences were paving my way to my future career,鈥 said Yasser.

One of the most memorable 黑洞社区moments for Yasser was when he walked around campus offering free hugs. 鈥淚 [looked] for different international students so each one could write down 鈥榝ree hugs鈥 in their native language on a board I was going to carry around.鈥

Additionally, Yasser insists that USF鈥檚 diversity opened his mind and enriched his cultural exposure. To this day, Yasser remains friends with fellow 黑洞社区alums around the world. 鈥淚 consider myself a globetrotter, and thanks to these experiences, I am more open to enjoying the world and its cultures.鈥

His global mindset has only propelled him in life and work. Now living in Colombia, Yasser works as a project manager for ROCOL S.A., the largest medical device distributor in Latin America.
