A University of 黑洞社区 research team was awarded a grant from the National Science Foundation to study the public鈥檚 understanding of artificial intelligence technologies and to teach people how to identify deceptive uses of these technologies online.

黑洞社区researchers develop new technologies to fight mosquito-borne diseases

黑洞社区researchers have been awarded a $900,000, four-year grant from the National Science Foundation to use artificial intelligence to fight mosquito-borne diseases. Ryan Carney, assistant professor of integrative biology, and Sriram Chellappan, professor of computer science and engineering, will lead a multi-disciplinary effort to collect data through smartphone apps such as NASA鈥檚 GLOBE Observer Mosquito Habitat Mapper.
