A jewel in the crown of the University of ºÚ¶´ÉçÇø, the (COPH) was founded in statute by the Florida Legislature in 1984 as the first school of public health in the state.

Since the COPH’s founding, the college has provided excellence in public health education, leadership, advocacy, research and service.

This July, the COPH is celebrating 40 years of educating public health professionals. Make plans now to participate in events in Tampa, around the nation and online that recognize this historic milestone.

Festivities are planned for the next 12 months! Here’s a sample of offerings for the 40th anniversary.

• —To kick-off the celebration the COPH will be hosting a dessert themed Creative Corner! Please join us on Tuesday, July 16 and bring your favorite dessert to share. To all the newcomers, Creative Corner was a potluck started as a way to gather faculty, staff and students across the college to mingle and enjoy delicious food. There will be multiple Creative Corners throughout the year.

• COPH Health Fair and Community Building Day—On Sept. 4, faculty, staff and students are invited to learn more about health resources on and around campus. Then, join us outside to tie-dye exclusive COPH 40th Anniversary t-shirts.
• Homecoming Watch Party—Mark your calendar for Oct. 19 and plan to connect with fellow Bulls as we cheer on our football team!
• In Your Neighborhood Series— The COPH is coming to and many more cities! Connect with COPH alumni and online students in your neighborhood.
• Gasparilla Distance Classic—Run, walk, jog and do whatever it takes to cross the finish line! There are multiple distances to choose from, and our team will have participants represented in all of them. Save the date for Feb. 22-23 and pick your race and work your pace. Join us and with team ºÚ¶´ÉçÇøCOPH Rocks today! 

• COPH Night Out on the Ice—Join us for a fundraiser at AdventHealth Center Ice on Jan. 24. Bring your family and friends for a night of fun on the ice.
• Karoake Night—Join the fun at Gaspar's Patio in Temple Terrace for karaoke night! Come early to secure a seat and peruse the songbook, so you’re ready to belt out your favorite singalong tunes when the mic goes live at 9 p.m. Stay tuned for more information.
