The Society of Women Engineers Recognizes University of 黑洞社区 Engineering Student Molly Skinner, Chemical Engineering Ph.D. Candidate, Accepts Outstanding Collegiate Member Award.
The Society of Women Engineers (SWE) has recognized Molly Skinner, Graduate Research Assistant for the department of Chemical, Biological, and Materials Engineering at the University of 黑洞社区 (USF), for her impact on the Society as well as the engineering community with the Outstanding Collegiate Member Award. Skinner will accept the award at SWE鈥檚 annual conference, WE21, which will be held from Oct. 21-23 in Indianapolis, Indiana.
The Outstanding Collegiate Member Award recognizes Skinner for her outstanding contribution to SWE, the engineering community, and her campus. She was recognized for her years of dedicated service to SWE including development of programs to promote success among undergraduate and graduate students, mentorship of girls of all ages in STEM, and service to the engineering community. This award celebrates Skinner as a leader, innovator, and inspiration.
鈥淪WE has afforded me opportunities in leadership, networking, mentorship, and even life-long friendships,鈥� said Skinner. 鈥淚 strive to offer those opportunities to the next generation of engineers. I hope to have a long and successful career in engineering and I want my work to be continued by intelligent, passionate, and empowered women.鈥�
The award also recognizes Skinner鈥檚 continuing dedication to SWE鈥檚 mission 鈥� striving to highlight the impact and importance of women in engineering across the globe, leading by example, and demonstrating that a career in engineering can be a fulfilling, rewarding pursuit for women of any background.
