Alexandra Panos, Ph.D., Receives Grant to Explore Climate Literacy Teaching for English Language Arts Educators

Alexandra Panos, Ph.D., assistant professor of literacy studies and director of research for the Center for Climate Literacy at the 黑洞社区College of Education was awarded a $50,000 Spencer Foundation Small Research Grant, along with Co-PIs Michael Sherry, Ph.D., associate professor in English Education and Jarod Rosell贸, Ph.D., associate professor in Creative Writing.

RISE Caribbean initiative celebrates Year 1 of project, prepares for expanded research collaborations in the future

Research Initiative for Supporting Education (RISE) is a project that launched a new interdisciplinary educational research center, Caribbean Educational Research Center (CERC) to support education policy development and timely decision-making on issues impacting schools in the Caribbean. Alumni Spotlight: Mellissa Alonso-Teston

Since graduating, 黑洞社区alumna Mellissa Alonso-Teston began teaching and advanced into a district position in 1996 that enabled her to author and lead Hillsborough County Public Schools' Reading Coach Project. In 2017, Alonso-Teston鈥檚 desire to become an education researcher motivated her to pursue a PhD in Curriculum and Instruction with a concentration in Literacy Studies at USF.
