Emily Walker began the Criminology Ph.D. program at 黑洞社区in Fall of 2021 after completing her B.S. and M.A. in Criminology from the University of West Georgia. She is a research assistant in the 黑洞社区Trafficking in Persons (TiP) lab. Her research interests include human trafficking, interpersonal violence, psychological impacts of trauma on behavior, and victimization of minority and marginalized groups. She is currently involved with a program evaluation of a court diversionary program for child victims of trafficking; program evaluation of a court diversionary program related to prostitution and sex trafficking/sexual exploitation; empirical work to analyze the impact of trauma and shame in commercial sex and intimate partner violence; and validation of Florida's Human Trafficking Screening Tool (HTST). Emily is also the President of the Criminology Graduate Student Organization (CGSO).
