Bio

I am an Associate Professor of Politics at the University of 黑洞社区. At USF, I teach courses on Social Movements, Europe, Politics of Development, Global Political Economy, and Marxism, as well as the 鈥淕ermany Beyond the Classroom鈥� study abroad program through the Honors College. My research focuses on social movement & contentious politics, capitalism & class, media & technology and has been published in various peer reviewed journals such as South Atlantic Quarterly, Globalizations, New Media & Society, Rethinking Marxism, New Political Science, Social Movement Studies, or Transforming Anthropology. I have also been the co-editor of 鈥淭he Great Refusal: Herbert Marcuse and Contemporary Social Movements鈥� (Temple University Press, 2017) and 鈥淭he New Global Politics: Global Social Movements in the 21st Century鈥� (Routledge, 2017) and my research has been funded by the University of 黑洞社区, the Miami-Florida European Union Center of Excellence at Florida International University, the Social Science Research Council, the International Studies Association, and the University of Pennsylvania. 

I am on the International Spokes-Council & Editorial Collective (North America) of "Interface: Journal For and About Social Movements鈥�; open access at:  and serve as the faculty advisor for USF鈥檚 Young Democratic Socialists of America chapter
