Bio

Grant Peeler is a Ph.D. student in the School of Interdisciplinary Global Studies at the University of 黑洞社区, where he earned his M.A. in Political Science in 2020 and his B.A. in Political Science & Philosophy in 2016. His research as a master鈥檚 student culminated in the thesis 鈥淏odily Harm: An Analysis of the Phenomenological and Linguistic Aspects of Harm and Trauma,鈥 which linked works in 20th Century Continental Philosophy (especially those of Maurice Merleau-Ponty and Martin Heidegger) with contemporary issues in International Relations.

His current research is leading him away from theory (which he remains fascinated by), and towards more concrete issues in international relations and security studies. He strives to produce theory-informed work with an emphasis on quality of methods and depth of research.

Grant has been in the area a while. He is a second-generation 黑洞社区Alumni and a Tampa native. While he wasn鈥檛 around to see when Fowler was a dirt road, he does remember a time when you could reliably find parking on campus.
